We took our much-loved RN-led programs for well baby/child and cervical screening (Pap) and expanded them! These popular programs are favourites among patients so we've built on that great foundation.
Well-Baby/Well-Child. THFHT RN’s specialized in children’s growth, development and immunizations remain dedicated to providing children with an exceptional level of care. Appointments are booked according to a guideline-based schedule to ensure that your child is meeting appropriate milestones and receiving routine immunizations . We also address parent concerns and connect you with any services that you or your child may need. This program is for children aged 0 to 6 years.
Well-Women. Our goal is to help women of all ages achieve the healthiest version of themselves with a focus on wellness and prevention. Well-women visits include a physical exam, coordinating age and risk appropriate cancer and non-cancer screening, and offering immunizations, All of our care is provided in consultation with your primary care provider (physician or nurse practitioner) and centred around you, the patient, and what your goals are for health.
Prenatal. Pregnant women can now have prenatal check-ups with one of our expert prenatal nurses! Health teaching will be of paramount importance with a focus on the stages of pregnancy and the health of both mom and baby. In the later stages of pregnancy you will be connected with the provider that you choose to bring your child into the world. After delivery, one of our well baby nurses will be thrilled to meet your new family member.
Sexual Health & Contraceptive Care. A THFHT nurse will talk to you about contraception and sexual health. In a welcoming and confidential space you can discuss your needs and choices, get information from trusted sources, and access appropriate screening. We will also address any concerns or problems that you are having and arrange treatments, prescriptions or referrals if needed. All care is private and confidential. Patients must be over age 14 years to book.
Perimenopause & Menopausal Health is new in 2024/2025. Starting in November 2024 we will be offering nurse-led visits for women experiencing symptoms of perimenopause and menopause. Our program team will provide individualized assessment and connect you with current information on symptom management and disease prevention, We will consult with health care providers to access treatments or referrals if needed.

THFHT formally recognizes the traditional keepers of this land and, specifically our neighbours of the Alderville First Nation, with a formal territorial acknowledgement. We reside on the Gunshot Treaty Lands of 1788. On these lands and on the shores of the big lake, the Mississauga Anishinabeg
(A-NISH-IN-NAW-BEK) met with the Crown to facilitate the opening of these lands for settlement. Let us be reminded of the responsibility we all have in making sure that we respect these lands and waters that give us life and sustain our livelihoods.
