Residency, practicum & student placements
THFHT is a teaching site...
The Trent Hills Family Health Team has been a clinical teaching site with medical and nursing preceptors and associate professors for 16 years. Our experienced clinicians will guide you through your placement and work to provide you with valuable and truly rewarding learning experience. Medical
THFHT is an active participant in the Rural Ontario Medical Program (ROMP). In addition to valuable primary care experience, THFHT will coordinate clinical time with our community partners, such as Campbellford Hospital, to give you a broad learning experience in a rural setting.
Nurse Practitioner
THFHT provides preceptorship and clinical instruction for Nurse Practitioner learners at all stages of their program in both the PHCNP program and Master's level programs with learners from programs across Ontario and other Canadian provinces. At THFHT NPs lead an autonomous enrolled patient practice and work to their full scope of practice.
Registered Nurse
THFHT provides clinical placements for Registered Nursing learners in all stages of their programs or for those bridging to their Bachelor's Degree. At THFHT, RNs provide autonomous primary care and program care in their full scope of practice for screening, prevention and chronic disease management.
Registered Practical Nurse
THFHT provides clinical placement for Registered Practical Nursing learners in all stages of their programs. At THFHT, RPNs provide independent care in their full scope of practice.
